The Impact of the War in Ukraine on Contemporary International Relations. VIII International Scientific Seminar

The war in Ukraine has changed the world as we knew it — it has shaken the foundations of international law, undermined the effectiveness of institutions responsible for guaranteeing peace, and affected the security of the whole of Europe. The 8th International Scientific Seminar at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin became a space for a rigorous analysis of these transformations and for discussion of the consequences of Russian aggression — not only for Ukraine, but for the entire region and the global order.

The seminar focused on the legal aspects of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine since 2014, including war crimes and genocide, as well as on legal solutions adopted by neighboring countries with regard to Ukrainian citizens.

The speakers included experts from Poland, Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia, who discussed the impact of the conflict on international organizations, the domestic policies of the Eastern Partnership countries, and Ukraine’s position on the international stage.
